Trumping bypass

It is interesting to hear George Sorial, spokesman for Trump International Golf Links Scotland (TIGLS), state that it shall continue to fight all the way the plans to site an offshore wind farm
in Aberdeen Bay, which Mr
Sorial claims shall have an adverse effect on the TIGLS golf course at Menie.

He cites the prolonged legal wrangle by Mr William Walton to stop the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR) being built in its proposed location as an example of how they could proceed.

Mr Walton was vilified in certain sections of the press and by the local business community in Aberdeen for holding up a project which they maintain is vital to the north-east economy.

Alex Salmond and the Scottish Government have repeatedly said that the wind farm is a vital cog in securing Scotland’s future prosperity.

It shall be interesting, therefore, to see if there is the same public outcry against Mr Sorial and TIGLS, as was directed against Mr Walton in his efforts to get the AWPR re-routed.
