True colours

Michael T B B Turnbull’s explanation of the origin of the Saltire colours (Letters, 6 July) was fascinasting.

But I must agree with Mr Roche’s original letter (3 August) in which he argued that the Scottish rugby team’s colours really should match those of the flag.
