Trident Plan

May I offer Alex Salmond a Plan B for his dilemma over Trident. Very simply, it is to declare Faslane a separate country, like Gibraltar. Then the problem would be removed from his control.

Scottish jobs would be preserved with just a little inconvenience at the border crossing. And Mr Salmond could sleep easy in his bed, knowing that he wasn’t responsible. This would, as with so many other issues, could be “subject to negotiation after the referendum”.
