Transport failure

The remarks by Lord Smith of Kelvin over the Commonwealth Games transport problems in Glasgow are not good enough: to say it’s unfortunate and that he is sorry for those passengers who could not get to the athletics stadium because they could not get public transport is inadequate.

Glasgow bus companies knew well in advance what numbers they would be expected to carry and should have had sufficient buses.

Refunding ticket holders is the least the games organisers can do for a disappointed public.
