Tram figures

Was Robert Black (Perspective, 5 October) not in charge of Audit Scotland when it signed off the projected figures for the Edinburgh tram system?

If so, then we can take his ­assumptions of what things will be like in four years’ time with a very large dose of salt.

In any event his figures are based on a highly disputed 
analysis of the demographic “time bomb” and within the context of a devolution financial straitjacket and not how things could be with economic freedom under independence.
