On track?

Over the past couple of months, I have become accustomed to the “ding ding” from Edinburgh’s empty trams as they pull away from the tram stop outside my office in Princes Street.

It is gratifying that finally, from 31 May, I can step outside my office, walk across the road and get the long-awaited tram to the airport. City of Edinburgh Council transport convener Lesley Hinds’ comment about delivery on budget and ahead of schedule reminds me of the words attributed to Abraham Lincoln: “You cannot fool all the people all the time.”
