Since then we have had Lib Dem Business Secretary Vince Cable predicting independence would lead to VAT on food and the disappearance of RBS, Conservative Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin claiming that independence would restrict cross-Border travel, Labour shadow energy spokeswoman Caroline Flint warning of higher energy bills under independence, to mention just a few.
We have also witnessed countless London-based journos heading to the curious north to incredulously ask ill-informed questions of the Bank of England Governor Mark Carney about this whole “separation” business.
And now the supposed coup de grace – a formal rejection by all three Westminster parties of the possibility of using our hitherto shared pound. Is this what being lovebombed feels like?
