Tory challenge

The appointment of Michael Forsyth to Lord Sanderson's team (your report, 14 June) might be the catalyst the Scottish Tories need. However, until this right-of-centre political party is seen as fighting all the way for Scotland, as its Welsh counterpart so successfully did in the recent UK election, it will continue to trail at the polls.

Only by showing the folk in Scotland that it is a forceful voice for Scotland at both Westminster and Holyrood will it ever succeed. Scotland desperately needs a right-wing party to effectively balance the scourge of socialism which has smeared Scottish life for far too long.
