Tory anti-Scottishness

The anti-Scottish profile adopted by the Scottish Tories in support of Margaret Thatcher nearly destroyed the Tory Party in Scotland. However, this spirit is still alive to judge by a recent move by the former MP, Bill Walker, to hold a referendum with a view to abolishing the Scottish Parliament.

There is no political dividend in rubbishing Scotland. It does not make sense to claim Scotland would be broke without handouts from London. The sums do not add up.

We would receive the oil revenues which have been squandered on nuclear weapons and military action in the Middle East. We would also be spared the cost of a new Trident missile system.
