Time for a trim

David Cameron has called Alex Salmond a “feartie” for delaying the referendum on Scottish independence until later in his term of office. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

David Cameron has still not given us the referendum on the EU, which he promised before the last general election.

Not that I would rather have wee Eck in charge. He is fanatically pro-Europe, pro-renewable energy and anti-nuclear, all policies which I abhor.

At the moment, we have financially the worst of all worlds – four UK governments and accompanying armies of civil servants instead of one, when we are supposed to be down on our uppers. Meanwhile, we are paying through the nose to keep the euro and the EU afloat, not to mention what the UN and Nato cost us.

Perhaps it might be better if Scotland got its independence, then anti-ScotNats like myself could move to England and encourage the English to cut Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland off without a penny!

I don’t know why the English put up with us whingeing Scots, Welsh and Irish. I really don’t! They’d be better off without us!

Ever since the SNP’s landslide win in May, we’ve heard nothing but nattering about the independence referendum – from the Unionist parties, and particularly from David Cameron, who has constantly needled the First Minister to hold an early referendum.

Before polling day, Alex Salmond made it clear to Scottish voters that he planned to hold the referendum in the latter part of this parliamentary term, and it was on that understanding that people voted.

What do opposition politicians not understand about that? Are they dumbfounded that a politician should actually keep his word and do after an election what he promised to do before it, or are they just trying to deflect attention away from their own Scottish leadership woes?
