Thorn in our side

Annie Lennox tells Scots to grow up. Maybe she should wise up, rushing into a complex situation where angels fear to tread? Many Yes Scots have English best friends whom they respect. But this does not resolve the problem, a problem saturated with risk, of the South-east conurbation of England draining the rest of their wealth.

Annie Lennox is prone to jump into complex areas expecting her singing talent to carry weight in the field of international politics. She has previously offered support to Palestinians in Gaza, but seems not to understand how Israelis feel about her interventions.

She similarly misjudges how both sides of the debate in Scotland might view her comments.
