Success story

Allow me to correct a basic error in Karen Koren's criticism of Edinburgh audiences for their continued loyal support of the Lady Boys of Bangkok at the Fringe (15 June). The very reason for the show's outstanding popularity for the past 11 years is that it is not "the same every year".

The Edinburgh Fringe is the world's greatest performing arts festival, with something for everyone. It is all down to a matter of personal choice. For the record, more than three quarters of the audiences for The Lady Boys of Bangkok are local people, many of whom are returning year after year. It's all about value – London West End technical and production values at Fringe prices.

Karen Koren may be disappointed that we will be back on the Meadows but be assured our audiences will not.
