Strong spirits

The fact that Michael Forbes of Menie was voted “Top Scot” of the year in Glenfiddich’s Spirit of Scotland awards and received a standing ovation from those present at the ceremony (your report, 1 December) shows that there are still people in this country who appreciate people standing firm and fighting their corner.

The documentary You’ve Been Trumped showed the uneven struggle Michael Forbes an his fellow property holders in Menie have had over the years and there is no doubt that the film contributed to him winning this prestigious award.

Mr Trump shall no doubt have a different take on things. In the words used in the film by Mr Trump himself: “Who cares?” Does anyone listen to what Mr Trump has to say these days?
