Still in denial

The starting point used by Alcoholics Anonymous was inherited from Christianity and it is the frank admission and open contrition for past misdeeds.

Listening to BFM TV in Bordeaux the other day, it was clear from the derision which met Ed Balls’ finance speech that even the free-spending French think he is in denial. The commentator asked if the keys were about to be handed back to those who had not only wrecked the UK’s economic vehicle but also were unaware of having been in a crash. He described Gordon Brown’s old comrades as student protesters rather than a serious opposition whose return to power would see London’s French exiles back in Paris.
