Speed writing

I WAS relieved to read that a song by Robert Burns (“Saved, the song that Burns wrote on office stationary”, 12 July) was rather nicely handwritten on “office stationary”.

Clearly, the office stationery was stationary in a station at the time he wrote it. Had it not been, his handwriting would probably have been 
illegible as he would have had to write very rapidly if it was on the move.
