Special dog

London-based cook Rebecca Smith says that her dog Winnie was “desperate to be cloned” (your report, 10 April). “The world will be a better place with more Winnies in it,” she adds.

Considering sausage dogs probably have brains the size of a walnut, the fact that this animal could express not only an understanding of the complicated cloning process but a willingness to take part in its advances, Winnie must truly be a special creature.
