Speaking for us

Keith Howell (Letters, 29 July) is absolutely right. In a breathtaking and audacious act of political opportunism, Pete Wishart has indicated that SNP MPs will raise issues in Westminster that are of concern to their constituents.

Clearly these naive MPs are yet to grasp what Labour and Tories intuitively know, namely that once you are elected as an MP the views of your constituents can be an intolerable burden to your personal advancement and are best ignored.
