Sound of silence

HAS anybody tried to contact the Students Award Agency Scotland by telephone in the past week, and managed to get through?

I have been trying continually for the past seven working days and all I get is a recorded message which states that there are a lot of callers queuing at present and would I like to call later or try its website.

The switchboard doesn’t even give me the option to continue to hold and join the existing queue. This I find very strange.

It is almost as if SAAS does not want callers at all but would prefer the anonymity of the website to deal with queries.

Unfortunately, my query cannot be resolved by logging on to a website and needs a human being to actually speak to me. While I appreciate that this is a busy time for the awards agency, I simply cannot understand that it does not plan ahead to deal with the volume of enquiries it appears to be receiving, so that individuals like me are not left with short tempers and hefty phone bills for the number of unsuccessful calls we make to its contact number.
