I’m not convinced that biting footballer Luis Suarez is in need of psychoanalysis, as your editorial (25 June) suggests. Biting other children is quite common in two-year-olds who haven’t yet learned to socialise with others, and to understand they are not the centre of the universe.

Given the way sections of the media indulge these overpaid, inarticulate louts, it’s hardly surprising that footballers remain infantile.
