SNP deal danger

I was glad to hear of Ed Miliband pouring cold water over the idea of a Labour minority government forming a coalition with the SNP in Westminster next year. While he did not rule out a more informal and looser deal, similar to that which the SNP enjoyed with the Conservatives at Holyrood between 2007 and 2011, anything more would surely be a recipe for trouble.

It would be unpopular in England, would give ammunition to the Conservatives and would cause problems for Jim Murphy in fighting the SNP in the Holyrood election of 2016.

I only recently joined Labour and I’m currently taking the party for a test run. If I find that, come next May Angus Robertson or Alex Salmond is its back seat driver, I will quickly vacate the vehicle.
