SNP blindspot

WE YET again we see another splenetic outburst from Alexander McKay about the Scottish First Minister (Letters, 6 August).

I imagine, should our First Minister have the ability to walk on water, we would still see the same diatribes from Mr McKay anent his perceived malpractices.

Mr Salmond it seems made a joking remark about golf at Dornoch, seized upon by such as Mr Mackay as though Dornoch was chosen solely so that ministers could golf, such puerility is risible.

Mr McKay is so rabidly Unionist that he will grasp at any straw to try to damage the Scottish Government. It would seem that he likes the asset-stripping of Scottish resources and he appears comfortable that our people are being killed in the neo-colonial war of some other country. Mr McKay presumably liked Scots fishing to be handed on a plate to the European Union.

Is the Scottish Government perfect? Of course not, is the First Minister perfect? Of course not. It must be said, however, that the Scottish Government strives to protect Scottish interests and the Scottish people from the follies which emanate from London.

Mr MacKay should understand that the Britain of which he is so enamoured is nothing more than a second rate country on the fringes of Europe totally dependent on the US for anyone paying any attention to the mouthing's of its Prime Minister.

The sight of the grovelling British Prime Minister in the US recently was truly revolting.
