Smoking

I fully concur with Grampian NHS's proposals to ban smoking on all sites for staff and visitors to clean up hospital areas and avoid the disgusting mess left behind by smokers huddled around doors and entrances at hospitals (your report, 3 February).

The no-smoking legislation has been the most successful piece of legislation to come out of Holyrood but must be reviewed and extended to cover all streets and cars to eliminate the extensive cigarette litter problem.
