Slow Sundays

Scotland is soon to have yet another long awaited rail reopening, with frequent services from Edinburgh to Airdrie and Helensburgh. It appears that Sunday frequencies might, however, just be hourly, yet it's the busiest day for shoppers.

The adjacent M8 can be nose-to-tail on a Sunday. With many shopping centres being adjacent to the railway, it would appear to justify a weekday service every day, just as they have all over Europe.

There seems to be very little opportunity for customers' input into the big picture. The attitude that officialdom knows best still seems to prevail in Transport Scotland.
