Slippery slope

It seems with the recent bad weather we are reminded that the car is king and salting and gritting operations are limited to main roads and bus routes, leaving poor pedestrians to cope with dangerous conditions on pavements.

The situation is so bad that many pedestrians are forced to walk on the roads and take the gamble of being hit by a vehicle rather than end up in A& E with broken bones after slipping on a pavement.

Surely some gritting resource can be made to help the poor pedestrians left often with no option but to stay at home until the thaw comes.
