Simple courtesy

I find it extraordinary with the introduction of Universal Jobmatch, the employment service’s programme to enable jobseekers to access vacancies online and employers to advertise, that employers don’t have the courtesy to reply by sending a very quick e-mail back to your account
telling you if you are unsuccessful in your application. It would take less than one minute and it would be only fair and polite and it would at least give applicants hope that the system is working.

After sending out more than 200 applications using the scheme I have not had one reply. It astonishes me that employers can be so rude.

I realise that this is an employers’ market at the moment, but have employers forgotten what it was like to be on the other side of the fence?

I think some basic consideration is needed.
