Sex education

WITH regards to your report “Six-year-olds given lessons on how sex organs work” (29 March) and some parents demanding an end to such classes, there is overwhelming evidence that this strategy, which has been working in the Netherlands since the Seventies, produces a teen pregnancy rate six times lower than Scotland’s and even results in kids starting to have sex later.

The Scottish Secular Society responded to the government consultation with demands that we adopt this system, but, predictably, there has been a lot of misinformation peddled by religious groups.
