Self-interest?
When I was watching the television coverage of the Scottish
Labour Party conference, it struck me that the most fervent opponents of Scottish independence were the MPs.
Presumably, this is because they would lose their comfortable and well-paid posts in Westminster. It’s a pity for them, but independence would be highly beneficial for the rest of us.
