I Remember 20 years ago, in every English tourist board office, on the wall they had a map of the entire British Isles with “England” in large red letters across the top.

There was also a big one on display at Dover docks to let the tourists from over the Channel be confirmed in their beliefs.

Let’s also not forget the 2008 Olympics, where the Chinese kept announcing the GB team as “England” – there are endless examples of this mis-identity.

But this is not the main reason why Scots should put things right – the real bonuses are the economic arguments and also for the real need for fresh change and real adult responsibility in the world community.
