Sample survey

Joe Darby and Richard Perry (Letters, 1 October) question points in my letter (30 September).

While I know that some No voters in the independence referendum have expressed regret at how they voted, and converted to the Yes cause, it still seems to me that a sample survey asking how people voted, with the results compared with those officially declared, would be useful in giving an indication of how likely it is that any fraud was sufficient to have changed the overall result.

Some people do tell lies, “white” or otherwise, but I hope that enough would reply accurately about how they cast their votes to make such an exercise worthwhile.
