Salute to bravery

I AM so impressed by the work of people who go out in the cold mountains and seas to rescue people in distress (your report, 15 February), particularly as they might face some heartbreaking sights.

The fact that so many of them do it voluntarily is another reason to be proud of them. I hope they are proud of themselves.
