Recent articles referring to seven NHS Lothian consultants earning a collective £1.5 million (approximately £215,000 each) appeared on the same day as the esteemed manager of Rangers FC taking a pay cut from £880,000 to £440,000.

I leave your readers to form their own opinions, bearing in mind that Rangers are operating at a loss of circa £14m per annum in the second tier of Scottish football.
