Rich pickings

Following the last five years of austerity there are now many more millionaires and an increasing number of billionaires in Britain; apparently among the highest per capita in the world. However, food banks continue to increase and whether we’re under a Labour or Tory administration, the certainty is that “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer”.

The negative nature of this election has been deplorable. I am one of many who have received several letters from the increasingly desperate Liberal Democratic Party, supposedly written by committed Conservatives, urging me to vote for the Lib Dems. The electorate deserve better.

They should surely receive positive visions from these parties so that they may vote for what they believe in. 

As a former Liberal supporter I will certainly be voting for the SNP. I hope they will shake up Westminster and bring back some kind of honesty to the political establishment, ensuring greater powers for Scotland and working towards a fair and more equitable society throughout the UK.
