Reporting bias

The media’s unbalanced reporting of news and events relating to the independence debate is starting to hit home. Although The Scotsman is Edinburgh-based, most Scottish news is delivered by London-based media outlets including the BBC. Why is Standard Life given such widespread and headline coverage when, in the same week, the historically important and highly successful British Airways’ comments on independence are not so widely reported?

While The Scotsman did have this on its front page, the BBC lost it amongst other news very quickly. All too often news or even just comments from Better Together make your front page, yet positive stories about independence disappear to a small article inside.
