I knew Prince Charles had been a big fan of the classic 1950s BBC radio comedy The Goon Show but his insertion of the line “Who the hell wrote this script?” during his BBC TV Scotland weather forecast on Thursday was taken straight from an oft-repeated Kenneth Williams line in Round the Horne – another wonderful BBC radio comedy of the 1960s.

The Duke of Rothesay’s ad lib was delivered like a professional. Well done, Sir!
