Red flag
What do they want me to do? Tug my forelock and genuflect every time I pass one? Please may I have my photograph printed on MPs’ annual £67,000 pay cheques, with the words “Funded by David Fiddimore and others”?
I would like Downing Street to know that I don’t need the Prime Minister’s Office to tell me what is good or bad for me – I’m a grown up – and it is such patronising nonsense from patronising fools that is suppressing political engagement by ordinary folk in the 21st century.

I thought I had been long inured to the hypocrisy of the SNP and could no longer be surprised, but their reaction to the plan to display the UK flag on civil projects in the UK funded by the UK took my breath away.
This complaint, coming from the party that without shame purloined the Saltire as their symbol and whose former leader freely interchanges the words “Scotland”, “SNP” and “I”, really does bring political hypocrisy to a new low.
