For how long must we allow football to disrupt my life? With the kick-off of the World Cup, I as a pensioner, am losing my favourite television programmes.

I pop down to the newsagents, at 6am as usual to collect my favourite newspaper, where I am given a warning ie, “the papers may be late tomorrow, because of the football”. Why should millions of Brits have their lives disrupted because of a game of 22 people kicking a ball around a lump of grass?

There are millions of people who have no time for football, its graft, its super wages and massive profiteering from its supporters.
