If you speed on a speed-restricted road then you are breaking to law, so what's the problem?

In my opinion Edinburgh is one of the worst places for drivers speeding and jumping red lights. If you're breaking the law then you deserve to be punished, not a slap on the wrist. Carry on, officers!

Bottom line is, people shouldn't be speeding. For all the things people moan about, speeding is a terrible offence as it can easily cause so much damage.

With the tram works diversion in place the whole area is a traffic nightmare and the behaviour of drivers, as they rat-race past schools, is disgraceful. I'm more than happy for the police to be as sneaky as possible to catch the offenders. This is a residential area with a nursery and primary school; anyone speeding should be treated pretty severely in my opinion.

This couldn't be anything to do with the fast-approaching election, could it? I can just imagine the local Lib Dem councillors deciding that if they can return the city to normality now, by election day we will have forgotten the mess they have made of the city!

The Leith Business Association has campaigned for the removal of the barriers on Leith Walk since their installation in December 2008. On every occasion that the matter has been raised (even as recently as March 2010), TIE have stated that the barriers cannot be removed for Health & Safety reasons. Now that they are attempting to engender some support for the embattled project and it suits their own ends, suddenly it IS possible. Rank hypocrisy!

Finally, some sympathy for the frozen-out pensioners.

Billions a year on methadone to wasters, invisible trams, asylum chancers, minority groups of all and any sort. And granny can't afford to turn her fire on. This is civilisation folks.
