RBS fiasco

RBS losses for this financial year may top £8 billion, on top of the other tens of billions required to get us all out of the disgraceful  fiasco (your report, 29 January).

Thankfully, the £8bn will be coming out of the far larger UK pot, and not the smaller Scottish one. Truthfully, would an independent Scotland have been able to afford this?
