Rail opportunity

IN your report about Great Scenic Railway Journeys of Scotland (7 March) it stated that the trains will be updated to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable journey. I am surprised it has taken so long for someone to wake up to this fact. A few years ago my sister was over from Canada with a friend, who had never previously visited Scotland. We decided to go to Oban so as to visit Mull and Iona. We took the train from Glasgow and I was ashamed at the poor rolling stock with ghastly toilets and uncomfortable seating. Citylink buses, in comparison, provide a more comfortable journey and have more luggage space than our outdated trains.
