I do feel sorry for Scottish celebrities who are questioned about their views on independence.

Increasingly, there is an ugly tribalism surrounding the referendum and people can be treated harshly if they don’t agree with people with strong feelings about it. Nicola Benedetti (your report, 9 October) and James McAvoy were wise to say they would be keeping their views to themselves.
