Priced out

WITH regards to your report (14 December) on Edinburgh hotel prices rising significantly at Hogmanay, the same can be said of Glasgow hotels during the Commonweath Games.

Prices for a room normally vary between £40 to £90, but rocket to £300 to £900 for the “Friendly Games”.

I will now travel either by car or public transport during the Games, but I feel sorry for people who have no choice but to stay in hotels.
