The price is right

I don’t know if it is coincidence, but on the opposite page to the story that Roger Moore would “come back like a shot” to the UK if he could afford a house here (12 December), there is a piece about the 181-year-old stone cottage in Knoydart on the market for a mere £200,000.

Surely this is within the film star’s budget, and an ex-James Bond character would have no problem with little annoyances like “seeing your dinghy picked up by the wind and being blown three miles across the loch”.

He might also regard getting to the remote local pub as an exciting challenge. If I knew Moore’s address in Switzerland I would send the paper on to him – unless, of course, Sir Sean Connery is also interested in the property!
