Price to be paid?

If Royal Mail is sold off, as seems likely, how would an independent Scotland guarantee that my letters are carried effectively?

Scotland has some of the most rural areas in the UK, so our costs are higher in places. Would a Scottish Government find yet more money to subsidise our mail, or are we certain to see higher costs and a poorer service?

We could point to broadband as an alternative, but the story is the same here.

Yet another area to be spelled out, I feel.
