Pressure groups

Having heard of he few ghastly “alternative” events that were held, such as effigy burning and hanging, I wonder how many of those taking part actually wanted to.

I suspect many felt peer pressure to be seen to be conforming to the hard core 
minority who felt the need to show their power within the community – a bit like it used to be before Mrs Thatcher sorted out the unions once and for all.

Had that been her only achievement Wednesday’s events would have been worthwhile.
