Population bust

Your article on changing UK ethnic population levels (13 July) only fleetingly mentions the most significant of them; the estimated 2051 total population of 78 billion. All our efforts should be aimed at avoiding such a disastrous level.

We can't support our present numbers, and unemployment is about to surge in response to our dire financial situation. Massive staffing reductions are planned for the public sector alone, leading to more people chasing fewer jobs, along with increased unemployment benefit expense.

The enormous increase needed in housing will reduce our arable land even more, necessitating greater food imports as well as increased energy needs. We simply can't afford this, and step one in avoiding it is to regain control of our borders from the European Union.
