Policy question

Scottish Labour leader
Johann Lamont suggests it’s better to have macroeconomic and welfare policy run by the UK rather than Scotland. No, it isn’t.

There’s no benefit in pooling our resources if those resources are misused by successive
Conservative governments.

The policies pursued mainly by Conservatives (since they’ve mainly been the government) to appeal to southern England have increased poverty and
inequality to a level that shames us. Johann Lamont offers us more of the same.

Welfare policies offered by the Conservatives after the next election involve leaving under-25s without housing benefit. Does she prefer a
Conservative government to a Scottish Government?
