Pets out of hand

Thank you for raising the issue about packs of unruly dogs (your report, 5 May). I have been mobbed by packs of at least six to eight dogs on several occasions.

This has happened while I have been walking at the Cammo Estate in Edinburgh. When I have politely requested the dog handler to control their animals, I have been verbally abused or told that "you should not be walking where dogs are if you don't like them".

I had a dog for some 14 years and have no objection to well managed dogs being walked in appropriate places but the situation is getting out of hand.
