But what if Alex Salmond does not get his way with the pound and then refuses to take on Scotland’s share of the UK’S debts?
This amounts to more than £100bn, and if the Scottish government can renege on such a fundamental financial matter, the Westminster government could be well within its rights to seek compensatory reductions elsewhere, and their obligation to pay our pensions would be a starting point.
