Pecking order

If the Prime Minister will not debate with the First Minister then it should be with another senior government minister.

The obvious sub to step up to the mark is the Secretary of State for Scotland, Alistair Carmichael.

It will be interesting to see if he would accept or if they would shunt it further down the ministerial order.

This would be an interesting message to the people of Scotland. Alistair Darling as leader of the No campaign should debate with the leader of the Yes campaign.

Let’s see Alistair Carmichael or Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander take the challenge.
