Pay to see doctor

visiting Oslo a few days ago, I was astonished to learn that in this wealthy country, which prides itself on its caring welfare society, Norwegians pay the equivalent of £10 for an appointment to consult with a doctor.

The effect such a charge might have on GPs’ resources in this country would surely be worth the extra work involved with a rebate system for those on welfare benefits, etc.
